Skyros - A beautiful, authentic experience.
Unlike the three main islands of the Sporades, the island of Skyros is located between those and the large island of Evia. It has a daily ferry connection with Kymi in Evia, and there are also some ferry connections to the other islands in the north Sporades. There is also an airport that caters for domestic and charter flights to the island.

Skyros is an island of traditions, and has managed to preserve it's unique appearance throughout the years, remaining virtually untouched. It has a number of stunning monasteries and churches that you can visit, as well as various other places of interest such as the Archaeological and Folklore museums. If possible, you should also try and find the chance to visit the famous Skyrian ponies, which are a symbol of the island.
There are loads of excellent beaches around the coast where you can swim during the hot summer months. Some are very popular and busy during the summer period, while others are a little more isolated and quieter.
The island is one of great natural beauty, and the mountains blend together perfectly with the rich vegetation. This combined with the soft sandy beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Aegean make Skyros an island that everyone should try and visit.
